Paul Ryan Booed By AARP Crowd For Promising To Repeal 'Obamacare'

Republican vice presidential candidate Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI)was not well received at a gathering held by the American Association of Retired Peoples on Friday. After Ryan said the first step to strengthening Medicare is to repeal President Barack Obama's Affordable Care Act, the crowd erupted into boos.

After promising to repeal 'Obamacare,' the crowd jeered. 'I had a feeling there would be mixed reactions,' said Ryan amid the chorus of booing.

'It weakens Medicare for today's seniors and puts it at risk for the next generation,' said Ryan to more booing.

'You may not have heard this side of the story,' said Ryan, after detailing the Medicare funds stripped in order to fund the ACA. 'The law turned Medicare into a piggybank for Obamacare.'

'You don't have to take my word for it,' Ryan said. 'Ask the chief actuary for the center for Medicare and Medicaid services.'

• The solution should be simple:

  Let those who want, opt in to Obamacare. Let those who don't, just deal with it when someone in their family gets ass cancer.

• Not a very good solution. I'd say what Obama campaigned but then caved on, a robust public option'he should have called it lowering the age eligibility for Medicare.
  The greedy insurance corporations suck and should be phases out.

• You know what I don't get about Republicans. They claim Obama stole over 700 billion from Medicare. When the Republicans in the house included this same cut in the budget they passed. What's worse Republicans want to change Medicare into a voucher system. What happens when the bills Seniors accumulate is more than what the voucher is worth.
