On ABC's This Week earlier today, George Will reacted to the less-than-uplifting jobs report that came in Friday by arguing that since the beginning of his administration, President Obama has been getting 'terrible advice' on the economy from the people in his inner circle. He declared the jobs report to be 'bad across the board,' and rather than the unemployment V-shape the Obama administration expected to form, Will observed it looks more like a hockey stick.

Will said the recovery seems to be more like the recovery that wasn't, and criticized the Obama administration for its handling of the unemployment rate since starting out in 2009.
'It's quite clear the president got terrible advice early in his administration. First, his advisors said, 'Well, do the stimulus, it will never reach 8 percent.'' But beyond that, they assured him it was going to be a V-shaped recovery. Precipitous downturn, but a commensurate upturn. Turned out to be not quite an L-shape, but more like a hockey stick.'
Will described the current economic situation as a 'growth recession' because while there has been some growth, but not nearly enough to show overall signs of economic improvement.
