On Friday's Morning Joe, the panel discussed what lessons the Republican party can take away from Mitt Romney's performance both during the campaign and right after the election.
Jon Meacham presented the idea of a 'pivot point' for the party, with some elected officials now being able to differentiate themselves from Romney and the sort of 'old' way of doing things by claiming to be, say, '53% Republicans.'
Host Joe Scarborough touted himself as a '100% Republican,' adding that he's in good company. Back in 1994, he said, he and other 'populist' conservatives came out against what they referred to as the older 'Thurston Howell, III' Republicans. He was surprised, he said, that Republicans would nominate such a candidate again in 2012.

Maybe Joe will now realize, along with many in the primaries, that Romney was not more electable just because he seemed more moderate His background and his manner of address were so alien to most that he could never connect. Add to that some callous comments about large sectors of the population and you have a lost election.
I firmly believe that 'ayatollah' Santorum would have done better'despite the far right social views simply because he wasn't so robotic and disconnected
-
Joe is as big an etch a sketcher as Willard.
-
Points taken about the robotic plutocrat Romney but Santorum wasn't going to win anything, and neither were any of the other halfwits the Republicans foisted on the American public in their disastrous primary season. Romney never really recovered from that process, the lingering stink always there.
-
Agree with the Romney comments but Santorum was never going to happen.
The only one who could have beaten Obama had Obama Germs.

Sometimes Joe Scarborough just tells outright I don't give a _uck lies''''..Republican party 2012,and 2011 mantra''''.Mitt Romney is a real businessman, and the only candidate who can beat Barack Obama, although the other candidates are more so-called conservative''

They got of the island

Joe, the only thing, that you are for sure 100% of, is being a complete asswhole.

Uh'did Joe see the other candidates? Mitt Romney was the best option. And he was still terrible. That should tell the GOP something.
