Jay Leno Rips President: 'Good News For The Economy' Obama Is Out Of Town'

During his Tonight Show monologue last night, Jay Leno took a shot at the White House, joking that the economy will benefit from the president being out of town and overseas on his trip across Asia.

'Good news for the economy ' President Obama is out of town,' Leno joked to a mixture of applause and gasps. He waved it off, saying 'I'm only kidding.'

Later on in the segment, he mocked the administration's reputation for increased government spending: 'Well, the U.S. Postal Service reported that it had an annual loss of almost $16 billion,' he said. 'They're losing money faster than Obama can spend it. That's unbelievable.'

  • Now that the election is over I'm sure that he'll be back to his Hawaii vacations.

  • You do realize that Obama has taken fewer vacation days than the majority of modern Presidents, right?

  • Andrew must be trying to make his 8 posts per day quota by reporting on a joke Leno used in his monologue and using the Mediaite formula of adding stupid terms like 'rips' in the headline. It's a joke'kinda funny'not sure it's worth bringing it to our attention the following day.

  • When did Leno decide to join the Klan?

  • Once again, Obama is blundering everywhere he goes on another of his sightseeing trips, and the media ignores it.

  • have a heart' leno is just an 'old white man' cracking jokes..

  • Yes, I'm sure he does, and no I'm sure that will not stop him from engaging in hyperbole. It is pretty funny, however, that this kind of BS is what the wingnuts have been reduced to, though.

  • Funny, but ultimately very tragic.

  • When did you approve his application?

  • We should be asking you the Grand Wizard.

  • Lets compare the cost incurred for trip(s) to Hawaii to the cost of trips to Arkansas or Texas. I'm sure that you won't because that would go against the fantasy image that you have about Obama caring for the common man.

How many family Christmas trips to Hawaii did Obama make when HE had to pay for it?

  • IDIOT

  • i remember back in 2004, after Bush was re-elected via Diebold and everyone was all up in arms, Jay Leno had a message for those who were saddened. '. 'BUSH WON, GET OVER IT !
Jay, is there anything you'd like to tell yourself now ?

  • We can always hire Mitt:

  • what are you guys bitchin' about, Hawaii is cheaper than kenya !

  • Jay Leno is clearly trying to get conservative viewers watch his show. He's showing that in comparison to Letterman, he actually makes fun of the president.

  • dude, FOUR Americans died in Benghazi ok, there's no time to waste covering presidential blunders for the sake of a few laughs.
    stay focused will ya !

  • What'.you couldn't find his application in your in-box?

    'Cobra

  • Beat me to it, LOL!

    'Cobra

  • Hey Leno, you big chinned unfunny putz. F.U.

  • *yawn*

  • You got buyer's remorse Jay?

  • Leno's still on TV?

  • 'It's a joke'kinda funny'not sure it's worth bringing it to our attention the following day.'

Nevermind Andrew, what the hell is up with Leno lately?

He makes Dennis Miller look funny.

  • Reminds me of a joke about the overpaid late night host who got his salary cut in half. Oh wait, that was Jay. Lol!

  • brdad'sucking at Rush's hind teat.

  • There is nothing wrong with telling 'Administration' jokes.
Carson and Hope did it for decades.

    Except they were funny.

  • It's a good thing Leno told us he was only kidding. How else would you know what's coming out of his mouth is a joke?

  • He knows his audience' old white men.

  • He makes Ben Stein look funny.

  • And now he doesn't have to worry about President Obama's re-election. Obama won so now Leno can bash him again. Leno is a Obama supporter but he wants to be the king of late night.

  • I don't even watch these shows and even I know that

  • It was to save money and kept his employees employed. Sign of a good man.

  • Well.. jay is clearly playing to his audience. Not sure if its a good thing his audience is largely in the 50+ category.

  • I see Jay Leno has finally joined the Dennis Miller school of unfunny wing nuts club, huh?

That doesn't even get in to the fact that the economy has actually been better after George W. Bush tanked it back in 2007.
