Speaking Wednesday night at the Center for Reproductive Rights Inaugural Gala in New York City, 30 Rock creator and lead actress Tina Fey had particularly strong words for Republican Senate candidates Todd Akin, Richard Mourdock, and any of their colleagues who've recently made controversial comments about rape and abortion.
'I wish we could have an honest and respectful dialogue about these complicated issues. But it seems like we can't right now,' she lamented to the crowd.
'And if I have to listen to one more grey-faced man with a $2 haircut explain to me what rape is,' Fey continued, voice beginning to rise, 'I'm going to lose my mind!'
'I watch these guys and I'm like, 'What is happening? Am I a secretary on Mad Men?'' she said, referring to the popular AMC drama that depicts a 1960s ad agency dominated by sexist men.
'Todd Akin? Oof. This guy,' the former SNL star said, turning her attention to the Missouri Republican who sparked outrage when he claimed victims of 'legitimate' rape have natural defense mechanisms against pregnancy.
'Todd Akin claims that women can't really get pregnant from a legitimate rape because the body secretes hormones ' you know what, I can't even finish this sentence without getting dumber,' Fey joked, eliciting audience laughter and applause.

Dear Old White Men:
Stay out of women's health issues, get a life . . and leave the rest of us alone. (And thanks for the centuries of oppression, greed and lies).

If the GOP really wants to be relevant in the long run, it's going to have to accept immigration reform and gay marriage and protect women's rights, at a minimum. It'll be mathematically impossible pretty soon to win through uneducated, older white voters and evangelicals.
