Rachel Maddow: 'This Has Been The Gayest Week In Mitt Romney's Whole Life'

» comments

As much as the Mitt Romney campaign wants to keep the election focused on jobs and the economy, this entire week was just dominated by gay marriage, one of the most divisive social issues in the country. From Joe Biden's endorsement of gay marriage to North Carolina's anti-civil unions measure to President Obama finally completing his evolution, Maddow noted that this has probably been the gayest week in Romney's entire life.

Maddow also tied in the Washington Post story recounting how Romney used to bullying closeted gay students, and pointed out a piece in GQ detailing how one of Romney's chief advisors outed a transgender politician during a Massachusetts campaign.

And last night, she pointed out that Romney's gayest week ever isn't even over. Earlier today, Romney delivered a commencement address at Liberty University, founded by Jerry Falwell. Maddow couldn't help but note that a candidate who has been trying to shift the focus away from social issues is speaking at one of the most religious institutions in the United States.
