George W. Bush Endorses Mitt Romney

ABC News reporter Matt Negrin tracked down former President George W. Bush and asked him if he was endorsing Mitt Romney.

'I'm for Mitt Romney,' Bush responded, 'as the doors of an elevator closed on him,' after giving a speech on human rights.

Negrin noted that Bush has been absent from the campaign trail and hadn't made any public comment despite his own parents, President George H.W. Bush and Barbara Bush, endorsing Romney in March.

He writes:

People who worked in the Bush administration say they doubt the former president will be campaigning for Romney this year. Even in his post-presidential life, Bush still gets a lot of the blame for the poor economy, according to polls, though he has become more popular since leaving office.

  • Please campaign for Romney, George. Please.

  • He's done like 3 interviews in 3.5 years. Not likely.

  • In other news: 'Republican endorses Republican.'

  • This really doesn't change or impact anything, which really gives insight on Bush's Presidential Legacy.

  • Well that seals the deal. Romney loses by a landslide. LOL.

  • Probably the one endorsement Mitt's campagin was  trying to actively discourage

  • If anyone doubted which candidate would provide Bush with a third term, think no longer.

  • Sorry George'.we should care why???

  • This doesn't raise my confidence level.

  • A man can dream, can't he?
