Ted Allen is among our favorite food personalities, but did the former Queer Eye for the Straight Guy really just shatter Anne Burrell's glass closet? The Secrets of a Restaurant Chef hostess and three-season reigning mentor of Worst Cooks in America has never discussed her personal life, but, we should point out that Food Network has exactly zero openly gay cooking show hosts, so this could turn into a big deal. (To clarify: no single-personality Food Network show features an openly gay host. Iron Chef chef Cat Cora's Around The World In 80 Plates is on Bravo, while Chopped features a rotating host of judges in addition to Allen.)
In an interview with SiriusXM host Romaine Patterson, Ted blabbed, 'I'm not going to put a label on Anne, but she is dating a woman right now.' (The hesitation to label is his Queer Eye sensei powers revealing themselves.) But, basically, he outed her.
Allen also revealed that Anne's lucky lady supposedly works at Avec in Chicago, before gushing to Romaine, who admitted to having a crush on Anne regardless of her preferences, 'She was really cool. You've got some competition.'
