To Celebrate The 10th Anniversary Of The Wire, The Cast Reunites For'The Wire: The Musical

Mad Men may be having one of it's best seasons ever and Breaking Bad may be right on the horizon, but they both are in danger of being swallowed up in the remembrance of what many believe to be the greatest TV series of all time. Yes, this weekend was the 10th anniversary of the premiere of HBO's The Wire and while it seems that every outlet in the world (including even Maxim!) are celebrating the show with serious retrospectives and think pieces, Funny or Die has gone a slightly different direction; reuniting many of the cast members to perform The Wire: The Musical.

In a sketch that I've got a sinking feeling Wire co-creator David Simon would absolutely hate, folks like Michael Kenneth Williams, Sonja Sohn, Larry Gillard Jr., and Andre Royo return to play their immortal characters the way you've never seen them before. There's singing, dancing, and even a person in a giant hypodermic needle costume. If you think that's sacrilegious, wait till you see'GASP'Felicia 'Snoop' Pearson in a dress!

Sure, the cast may not have the musical ability to star on Simon's current HBO series, but we'll take any chance we can get to see Omar and Kima again.

ps. Nice shout out to New York's Players Theatre!
