George W. Bush Most Unpopular Living President, Poll Shows

Earlier today, Jeb Bush mentioned that President Barack Obama owes 'a little tip of the hat' to President George W. Bush. While Obama isn't likely to thank Bush for influencing his policy, it seems even more unlikely following a CNN poll that found Bush to the least popular living president.

According to the poll released Thursday, 54 percent of those questioned had an unfavorable view of Bush, compared to 43 percent favorable. The latter of which is the same as it was in 2010, 'but is up from his mid-30's favorable rating during 2009, his first year out of the White House.'

On the other hand, two-thirds of those questioned had a favorable view of President Bill Clinton ' who's been in the news quite a bit recently. How might this affect Team Obama's campaign strategy?

'Don't be surprised if the Obama campaign mentions the name of George W. Bush at every opportunity, and don't be surprised if that strategy works,' said CNN Polling Director Keating Holland. 'And the mention of Bush's name appears to prompt at least a few people to take a more positive view of their current financial situation.'

Furthermore, more people are likely to say they are better off now than four years ago if Bush is mentioned by name. When asked without naming Bush, respondents were split: 44 percent to 43 percent. When asked 'whether they are better or worse off than they were four years ago 'when Bush was president,' a small gap opens ' 47% say they are better off compared to 41% who say they are worse off.'

President George H.W. Bush, gets a 59 favorable rating, with 34 viewing him unfavorably. And the attempts to portray Obama in a bad light by comparing him to President Jimmy Carter? Well, Carter was viewed favorably by 54 percent of those questioned, with three in ten viewing him unfavorably.

  • Not sure how this is news. Bush will be lucky to avoid jail during the rest of his time on this planet.

  • congratulations libs! you finally have something to read about to make you happy ' especially after that Scott Walker thingy.

P.S. LIBS: Bush isn't relevant anymore.

  • Bill Clinton ' serial sexual harasser, accused of rape and documented womanizer, cheater on his wife for decades, lied directly to the country on TV and grand jury has a 2/3 favorability rating. Unbelievable.

  • It will probably stay like that until the conservative movement either forgets about him like his Father or refashions him as a saint like Reagan.

  • Meenal kinda buried the lede here, didn't he?  I see that poll, and I say to myself, 'Holly F%ck.  George W. Bush is almost as popular as Barack Hussein Kardashian'.

THAT is how much trouble Barack Hussein Kardashian is in.

  •  Bush would only go to jail if obama had the balls to have him convicted for Guantanamo but with obama AS CORRUPT and with Eric Holder as he is, both will stay out of jail.
