Three tug boats are currently pulling the stranded Carnival cruise ship Triumph, whose 3,143 passengers and 1,086-person crew have been living since Sunday with limited access to power, running water and food. The four-day Caribbean cruise has stretched on for more than twice that length after a fire took out the ship's propulsion system. It is expected to arrive in Mobile, Alabama around 5pm ET Thursday afternoon.
Thus far, only one passenger, 54-year-old Rachel Alderete, was able to disembark the ship, with the help of the Coast Guard, to receive kidney dialysis treatment in Cozumel, Mexico before being flown home. 'It was scary, I tell you. It was horrible,' Alderete told The New York Times. She added, 'A lot of people were complaining that people were hoarding their food.'
